Description

Nelson's slime lily (Albuca nelsonii) Glenmore beach

Extract from PlantZAfrica. Grows in clumps and is 60-120 cm high (yes) when in flower. The large, fleshy bulb is partially exposed (yes, see photograph) above the ground. The leaves are strap-shaped and rather sappy (yes). Its flowers are white (yes) with green stripes (yes), 25-35 mm long (yes), and borne on a long, more or less erect pedicel (yes). Several to many flowers are arranged in a raceme (yes) with a stout, erect, naked peduncle lower unbranched part of stalk. The flowers are produced from September-November {also Manning} (observed in July in profusion) .

Pooley:KZN leaves broader at base tapering to pointed tip (yes to maybe, not well seen in photograph).
