Locally common. Saxicolous on palagonised basalt tuff. Growing admixed with Dufuorea ligulata, Buellia spp., Disphyma papillatum. Thallus diffuse, irregular, areolate (deeply cracked), maculate, pale greenish white to grey-green (K-). Apothecia abundant, disc orange (K+). Noted at Type Locality.
