Description

Naturalised within roadside garden and car park - this is the diploid race incorrectly attributed to Hibiscus trionum (an African tetraploid - see Craven et al 2011). Currently treated as naturalised to New Zealand, this race may infact be indigenous (if not endemic) as so far I have been unable to match it to any of the other races of H. trionum sensu lato present in Australia, Europe or the USA.

Irrespective - at this location, this plant was clearly naturalised.
