Abundant tree fern growing along roadside in moderately dense nikau (Rhopalostylis baueri) / Kermadec pohutukawa (Metrosideros kermadecensis) forest. Images show growth habit of adult, skirt of fronds and trunk. The bare trunk also supports a little Tmesipteris lanceolata - a very uncommon fern on the Kermadec Islands
