Description

This was the best I could do with the iPhone inside my car, but I’m thinking it’s a downy based on the size and shorter bill. No red spot, I watched it for a while, so it’s a female. I’ve never seen a woodpecker digging around in leaves like this, which is how it caught my attention. It kept flying around these leaves digging around what looked like dying leaves...maybe caterpillars? Someone let me know what you think!
