Description

Hundreds to perhaps a couple thousand in floodplain forest/pine thicket. Flashing in unison. Most are low to ground but some are in tree tops too. Very active/fast walking. First noticed them in 2012. Some years they’re very abundant. 2022 appears to be one of those good years. I have no yard/street light. Very dark in my yard and very little light pollution (if any) from neighbors. Several thousand acres of floodplain forest, thickets and marshland behind and beside property. They seem to really prefer the pine thicket.
