This was the first Texas record of this species. Most lower 48 U.S. records are fall juvenile birds, but this was a spring adult. It only remained two days. Another better photo is on the Texas Bird Records Committee of the Texas Ornithological Society web page at:

The 2nd shot shows a Pectoral Sandpiper in the background. There are now (2012) three records of Sharp-tailed Sandpiper in Texas.
