4th Grove, Borrego Palm Canyon, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Small pool in year-round but greatly diminished creek. These Giant Water Bugs (aka Toe Biters) were seemingly benign until we spotted one grasping this frog and another with a partially consumed tadpole (both California Chorus/Tree Frog). This is our source of water during annual Bighorn Sheep Count, when this sighting was made.
