These are the best specimens of Amethyst Gem Clam picked from 123 ml of 2-4 mm screened beach drift. This sample was collected in 2019, but just sorted. At least as many more worn specimens remained. Twenty-nine species of mollusks were Identified in this small sample and 58 were collected at this location on this day. The last photo shows part of this screened sample after recovering the best shells.
