On ground in mixed woods. Cap 8 cm., yellow buff, smooth, dry, inrolled margin. Gills color of cap, broad, free to notched. Stem whitish, smooth, white bloom top 1/3, stuffed, 15cm. × 3 cm. Flesh of stem and cap white, firm. Distinctive, unpleasant odor. Unpleasant taste. Pink spore deposit has brownish cast.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Still have this specimen a few days later and it looks like new—even the bugs don’t like it.
