Orange Waxcap (Hygrocybe aurantiosplendens)

Description

Mossy ground under cedar and balsam fir in mixed woods. Slimy red orange cap, up to 4 cm. Stem 4 cm.x 9 mm., tacky, hollow, flattened with a longitudinal groove. White spore deposit.

Went back the next day and the caps were slimy and stems tacky despite no rain.
