Growing with Lepidothamnus intermedius, Manoao colensoi, Agathis australis, Dacrydium cupressinum and Ixerba brexioides. A healthy population showing a good range from seedlings through sapling to adults. This stand is close to (if not the) southern limit for this species in the eastern North Island. Plants fruiting. Images show the classic dimorphic foliage typical of the endemic genus Halocarpus (the appressed needles on the branches being the adult state).
