There are few seaweed as flexible as this.
When growing it reaches from the sand to the surface and trails out with the stream. I have collected it in just over 10metre lengths.
It is very furry but this is hardly noticed when out of water. I can be confused with Himanthalia elongata but the latter is flattened, forked and not hairy.
