Floating dead in Mono Lake near the Negit Islets. Tiny. Much smaller than a screech-owl. I know it's hard to ID in this photo - but the scaly naked toes are diagnostic in the photo - screech owls have fuzzy toes. Reddish tones also. Specimen saved for skeleton for LA Co. museum of NH
