It looks more like a white-footed mouse than any of the other possibilities I have so found found, but this would be out of range.

If it is this Eastern NA species, my first thought was that it might be someone's former pet taken out to this extensive forest with mountain biking trails, adjacent to Alice Lake PP.

So I returned the next day to look for mouse holes and found some at the base of two trees along the trail near where I saw this mouse. I have photos. The holes look smaller than those of voles/moles.
