Description

The Chatham Islands is so far the only place I have seen the domesticated carrot wild (see de Lange et al. 2011*). This is an example. Usually seen near settlements (but not always), where I assume it has established from the dumping of garden waste.

This specimen - one of several seen - was found growing under hakapiri (Olearia traversiorum) on dunes near houses.
