Description

Occasionally, over many years, I have seen what looked to “white” (bleached) columned stinkhorns. Today we found several again. But I thought they looked different in other ways other than color. The white ones have, for example, the dark, goopy, stinky stuff for most the length of the columns. And have little flaps along the columns to the hold the goop.
When I Googled “white” columned stinkhorn, I thought I found the answer – Blumenavia rhacodes.
But then I read that they don’t seem to grow here.
Wiki says: “Blumenavia is a genus of fungi in the family Phallaceae. The genus contains three species found in South America and Africa.”
