Description

Part of the Leptospermum scoparium agg. This is the most widespread race at North Cape (it is not confined to serpentinite). Forming flat sprawling shrubs up to 8 metres wide and rarely taller than 1 m (this growth habit is retained in cultivation). Leaves broadly ovate, not especially hairy but exhibiting the distinctive sharp apex and apiculus typical of L. scoparium s.s. - which is otherwise a more southerly 'unit' in the complex. A few flowers seen (these white (to my eye anyway)) but specimens mostly bearing old dehisced fruits.
