Description

Tricholoma sp.? Cap >15cm Light gray on site becoming darker with drying and age. Spore print white. Stalk is central, Light gray as with the cap but convoluted on one side with what appears to be more fruiting bodies fused with the main cap and stipe. Gills are adnexed to adnate in age and darkening with age Growing on the ground near path into the Caspar Cemetery. Mixed conifer forest with Sitka spruce dominant on the south side of the cemetery road. Other tree species are Douglas fir, Grand-fir, Tan Oak (Notholithocarpus sp.) Oder not unpleasant almost fragrant but becoming so in age. Worm holes in the stipe base and cap.
