Southern Boobook Owl
Identified as Ninox novaeseelandiae on Bowerbird by Graeme Cocks: "I was working out in the shed this morning and a chorus of birds started up. Every bird from miles around had converged on something in our Mango tree. They were going beserk. Way up in the tree sat a Boobook Owl, trying to sleep. It wasn't until I had taken the picture that I noticed the rat. Presumably it had already consumed enough last night and was just hanging on to this one for breakfast."
