This is the legendary "Wild Goat of Devil's Eyebrow", which may no longer be extant. I heard rumors of him from locals when I was doing a botanical inventory of what is now Devil's Eyebrow Natural Area. The story was that he was the last remnant of a herd kept by a hermit who lived in a cave there some years before. I saw the goat along the shore of Beaver Lake several times and also found the cave, full of goat droppings, trash, and leftover hermit gear. I last saw the goat in 2014 or 2015 with a severe limp and pretty emaciated. The cave has since been cleaned out.
