Description

This plant was found on an abandoned lot surrounded by other bushes of different plants. It is in direct sunlight, and it is more or less 4 feet tall. It consists of green leaves with long, skinny spines that come out of the tops of the bushes, with small bright purple flowers on the vines. There are only about 3-5 flowers per vine. As you can see, the vines have teeth-like textures. The leaves have deep veins and are jagged around the edges. They look almost wrinkly. According to PBS, angiosperm eggs are fertilized and develop into a seed in an ovary. This is manifested in a flower. The flowers of angiosperms have male or female reproductive organs. (From PBS, available at https://nhpbs.org/natureworks/nwep14f.htm). In the picture, you can just barely see the stigma, it is a white protrusion from the center of the flower.
