Description

Old man roo with ?sarcoptic mange?
Identified as Macropus giganteus on Bowerbird by Liz O'Donnell
Wildlife Health Australia was provided with photos and has advised that mange is known in species including "agile wallabies... but we are not aware of cases in eastern grey kangaroos. There could be a variety of reasons for the lesions seen on this kangaroo, so I would not want to jump to any specific conclusions. If the animal were to be brought into care by a wildlife care organisation, I would suggest obtaining veterinary advise to find out what might be the cause."
