Description

Abundant at low tide mark and subtidally. Growing on basalt reef and associated eroded blocks. Thallus broader than tall, when fresh rather pliant and rubbery, drying somewhat leathery; thallus bilobed, colour variable ranging from dark red, through wine-red, to yellow-green or almost green. Hold fast not obvious, thallus broadly attached in mid section to substrate.

Images of an herbarium specimen that had been split length wise to fit two sheets.

I had thought this was Pachymenia but now believe it is Aeodes.
