Small, pitch-black worms. Prostomium blunt and rounded, flanked by a pair of grooved palps which are followed by 4 pairs of long, thin, thread-like gills.

Occurs on intertidal rocky shores. Gregarious, large numbers living side by side and burrowing into encrusting corallines, their gills and palps projecting from burrow openings to obtain oxygen and to catch detrital particles for food.

Found in a rock pool, on the rocky shore in Hermanus.
