There are 3 chipmunk species in confirmed obs for Spokane: yellow pine, least chipmunk, and red-tailed. From the photos, they all look similar to me, so this is a guess.

At a popular vista point in this state park, I made the mistake of giving this "tame" fellow some of my raw pumpkin seeds. A moment later, two unleashed dogs raced up and killed it, then raced away when their owner whistled in the distance.

It made me wonder how often unleashed dogs kill small animals and the owners don't realize it.
