Description

One of the unnamed variants found in this "species" complex. This race is distinguished by the flat, sprawling, growth habit, bronze-coloured, lanceolate, sharp-tipped leaves (not especially hairy), and large white-flowers (up to 15 mm diameter at this location) and capsules (15 mm diameter at this location).

Takatu Peninsula is a well known location for this entity and there it grows syntopically with L. aff. scoparium (a). The Takatu population appears to be a close match for (if not the same) as these other observations:

http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/4182887
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/2909949
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/2491558 - possibly but note narrower leaves
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/1425281 - which I had thought was an unnamed race of var. incanum but which is more another example of this race of L. scoparium sensu. lato. (see for comparison http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/1724967 for an example of a 'flat' race of var. incanum).
