A female. This is the third specimen (and the first female) from Novosibirsk (and its province) - all from the same forest, swamped in the middle - of the species earlier thought not to occur westerly of Central Siberia (and for some time erroneously treated as a subspecies of S. metallica). Note the following differences from S. metallica females: subtriangular (rather than slanting narrow) pale spots on the second abdominal segment, no pale stripe across the frons, the genital plate with a broader base, a darker body.
