Research can be pretty darn fun. Even when new findings are super esoteric, they're still really exciting because they're NEW! In this case, my students and I found the northernmost record ever for Bar-winged Skimmer today! A new species for the Blue Hills (and the county) and yet another southern species showing evidence of northward range expansion likely in response to a warming climate. There are so many tiny examples like this adding up to the big picture that the world is undeniably responding to a changing climate. Holding evidence of that in the hand today was really cool!
