Spotted by Andy Birch, this small shorebird is a newcomer to the shallows, where it joined a very large group of Least Sandpipers and Black-necked Stilts. With any luck it will hang around for a while. Larger than the Sandpipers, but smaller than the Stilts, it displayed some frenetic movement while feeding. This individual also spent some time swimming like a duck - unusual for a shorebird.
