Description

A flock of turkeys stop to peck on my (unsprayed) lawn at least twice a day, on their way to see what the songbirds dropped under my neighbor's hanging feeder. But what are they getting out of my lawn? Are there that many insects I'm not aware of? Or do the sorrel and four different clovers in this meadow/lawn really produce enough seed daily to make it worth their while to peck around each time? Or are they just exploring out of habit?
