We began documenting species change in the Simon Lake region starting last year with a Mini BioBlitz on July 12, 2014.
This year we are working on doing a better job, and getting more people involved. Please help us by adding any observations from the Pope County and Simon Lake area!
This community made up of public, private, farmer and recreational landowners, is working together to improve their native grasslands with carefully managed grazing. Among their common goals are to improve native habitat, increase wildlife and native plants, and to fight invasive species cooperatively by using livestock and managed grazing. We hope to use this site to help us document any change that might occur over the next five to ten years.
If you would like to volunteer for/participate in the BioBlitz, learn more about the event, or the Simon Lake Challenge, please contact Robin Moore at the Land Stewardship Project, 320-269-2105.
Thank you!
