THIS GRAPH IS AMAZING. THESE STATS ARE AMAZING.

(Keep your eyes peeled... Monterey Bay, California is planning on joining the official CNC in 2023! We've got a good standing to take on SF.)

I so enjoy this opportunity to explore, photograph, and contribute. Will there be a city by city analysis this year?

Even though I joined, I was unable to post any pictures. It didn’t have an upload option when in this project. Any ideas what I did wrong?

Love the graphics!! Here's to 2 million observations in 2023!

@lroznovsky Looks like you have four observations in the CNC: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&project_id=city-nature-challenge-2022&subview=map&user_id=lroznovsky&verifiable=any; included as part of the Houston-Galveston project: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2022-houston-galveston.

All the CNC city projects are set up so that you don't add your observations directly to the project. As long as your observations are made during the CNC window (April 20 - May 2) and are within a boundary of a participating CNC city, they will be automatically aggregated into that city's CNC project.

Question: How big is the area included in the city challenge for Ottawa-Gatineau? Is it the same they use for rare birds; 50K in a circle from the Peace Tower downtown Ottawa or is it more extensive in connection with the CNC?

Posted by ninastavlund almost 2 years ago

@ninastavlund If you look at the projects "about" page, you can see the defined areas included in the project. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/citynaturechallenge-definatureurbaine-2022-ottawa-gatineau?tab=about
If you click on each of the places, you can see a map with the place boundaries.

Congratulations to everyone, it is great to be able to reach out across the world and join in this effort - keep observing everyone.
