In just 5 hours, the 2024 iNaturalist City Nature Challenge begins! Over 600 cities around the world are participating, including us in Louisville, Kentucky, USA!

Take photos of WILD plants, animals, and fungi within the boundary of Jefferson County, Kentucky and upload to iNaturalist. (Download FREE app for your smartphone and Register at iNaturalist.org. ).

All photos TAKEN between 12:01 a.m Local Time, April 26 through 11:59 p.m. April 29 will count on Louisville's tally.

You will have until 9 a.m. local time on May 6 to UPLOAD photos taken previously. HOWEVER, that won't leave time for identifiers to identify or confirm identifications so these observations can reach RESEARCH GRADE. This is a Citizen Scientist project, after all, and scientists will be only using research grade observations.

So please upload your photos as soon as you can! THANKS and have fun out there finding wild plants, animals and fungi to take photos of.
