Can you help fill in the gaps?

Hi Deer Community!

Can you help fill in missing areas on our map in and around Los Angeles?

If you have observations of deer anywhere in Los Angeles and Orange County, we would really appreciate help in documenting this species. Also, we are currently collecting mule deer droppings for genetic analyses to study deer across the Santa Monica Mountains and Orange County and how their populations may be connected or separated by distance or barriers to movements. There's surprisingly little information of any sort on deer in Southern California, so your observations are a big help! We can use the information to better plan our field surveys and the sightings give new data on deer distribution that we can use to monitor this species over time.

Thank you very much!

Hello, I live in El Sereno very close to Alhambra and South Pasadena. Last week a deer got by car and was killed by the impact. It was spotted by several people in the community from early morning to late when it was killed. Would like to add a sighting of deer in my area. I got pictures and link to videos posted on Facebook.

I am in the wilds quite a bit however am extremely hesitant to put deer, quail and other hunting fodder on any open site for obvious reasons. Is there a way to direct the information to you and in return you do NOT post it publicly? Otherwise, I just have to keep it to myself which will not do you one bit of good!
