Beginnings

Introducing the premiere project on iNaturalist for tracking the diversity of epiphytes one can encounter at the bus stop shelters of Honolulu's best public transit service. This is a critical research need which has for many years gone unfilled, but together, we can gather this essential data for the benefit of all holocard holders.

Observations must be of a plant which is either rooted in the ground and climbing the bus stop shelter, or are purely epiphytic and are rooted into the wood. Bonus points if you can find a grass growing epiphytically on a bus shelter.

So far I have found three species of ferns and corkystem passionflower, but I'm sure there's more ferns and probably some ficus out there taking advantage of this prime habitat just waiting to be discovered.

If you're not sure how to add an observation, tag me and I'll add it.
