Fall germinating and emerging plants of Oregon

Although we commonly associate seedlings with spring, some plants germinated or emerge from summer dormancy in the fall. Add your observations of native Oregon plants germinating or breaking dormancy to this project to help build a list of these species.

Qualifying observations are:

• Made in the fall or early winter (August to December)
• Show young, emergent growth
• Are of plants native to Oregon

Cultivated native plant observations are welcome to this project, especially if you can identify them to species. This can help us identify wild seedlings by comparing morphology. However, please tag all cultivated plants appropriately when you upload them to iNaturalist. less ↑
