Project intended to discover, track, and look up observations of species that cause galls, mines, and other diseases on plants that are either captive/cultivated or are found in the wild outside of their native range. In some cases, exotic parasites may even attack native wild plants. Observations can be assigned to one of this three categories through the use of observation fields, but if you're unsure, there is also an unknown category.
This project could provide information about how these species spread and what effect they could have on their host plants and other plants in their surroundings.
Project icon shows a leaf of Eucalyptus camaldulensis, a tree endemic to Australia, and it was taken in Madrid, Spain. The leaf exhibits numerous galls induced by the Eulophid wasp Ophelimus maskelli. Despite E. camaldulensis being a very common ornamental tree in Spain, its galls remain underreported.
