Gulf MNM is actively monitoring coastal wetlands in the Northern Gulf of Mexico* for recruitment of black and red mangrove seedlings.

Seeds of these distinctive tree-like shrubs have been discovered along our beaches, and several have been found germinating! Conditions are ripe for an increase in biodiversity of our dominant coastal wetland vegetation, and we are eager to document their gradual arrival.
