We are studying how urban habitat use affects White Ibis (Eudocimus albus). We study ibis in Palm Beach County, Florida at various urban parks and zoos. We use unique color leg bands to identify and resight ibis. This helps us understand their movements and the extent of their urban habitat use. We will also use this information to study how urban habitat use and access to anthropogenic food may affect ibis health.
You can help us by looking for our banded ibis, uploading your observations, and adding them to our project! Please include the unique color combination of the leg bands in your observation. For example, if the ibis has one silver band on the right leg and a red band on top of a blue band on the left leg, please report your sighting as "Silver Red/Blue."
You can also join our "Urban Ibis" project to share your general observations of ibis in urban areas.
