This project aims to monitor the introduction/expansion of the Asian House Gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) around the world. This gecko is now one of the most wide-spread reptiles globally. It has been reported to cause damages to novel ecosystems by competing with native geckos and predating on native fauna. Its potentials as diseases and parasites vectors are still doubtful.

Fortunately, cold climate have prevented it from invading temperate zones. However, with climate change scenario, this gecko seems to find its way to occupy new territories gradually. less ↑
