This project is designed to capture data on plants and animals found around Lake Harlingen and Liberty Gardens Park near the Harlingen Public Library. Our BioBlitz will follow the Arroyo Colorado Audubon Society's Beginning and Intermediate Birding Class iNaturalist training on Tues February 27, 2018, but the project will accept data for the whole 24-hour day. Cities can be rich in biodiversity - you just have to take the time to stop and look for it, so let's see what we can find!
The rules:
- Record all living (and dead!) wild organisms you find.
- If you find a plant that was obviously planted by a person, check "captive or cultivated" on the observation
- Do not record: humans, domestic cats, or dogs, even if they're wandering around
- It doesn't matter if you can't ID it - log it anyways and the iNaturalist community can help
- Have fun and enjoy the nature around you!
