Maury Island Preserve Network BioBlitz 2015

Vashon Nature Center's mission is to grow a community of islanders and visitors who connect with local natural wonders and with each other through research, education, and citizen science.
Through our Bioblitz program we encourage connection and awareness of local wildlife while adding to our body of knowledge about what lives on Vashon and Maury Islands. We started this effort in 2012 and have continued it every year creating the first systematic baseline inventory of biodiversity on Vashon and Maury Islands.

This project is a storage database for photographs and sightings at the 2015 Vashon Nature Center Bioblitz at Maury Island Preserve Network on Maury Island during a 24-hour period from 1 pm June 5 to 1 pm June 6th. This was the fourth Bioblitz conducted on Vashon Island.

Expert naturalist and scientist team leaders curated and provided us with final species lists so we are highly confident of the accuracy of the species records posted that do not have photos as well as the photos that we have identified.

We have posted some photos that had no expert identifiers and we could use help identifying those photos to lower taxonomic levels if possible. Thank you!
