Taxonomic notes: First described by Parker (1939).
This species occurs in the northern Solomon island of Bougainville and in Alotau in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea (McCoy 2006). It has been recorded from sea level to 915 m asl.
There is little population information available for this species. It is known only from a single specimen in mainland New Guinea.
The threats to this species are unknown. It is potentially threatened by predation by pigs and general development.
There are no known species-specific conservation measures in place for this species. It does not occur in protected areas. Further research into this species distribution, population status, habitat and threats is recommended.
Acutotyphlops solomonis has been assessed as Data Deficient. It is known from Bougainville island in the Solomon islands and the south-west of Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea.
