Hi everyone! We will be on a hiatus for the winter but will keep in touch about events and ways to get outside. Just because the plants are dormant doesn't mean that we will be!
Thanks for a great fall start! We are up to 80 confirmed species already!

The map of the project area does not correspond to the Creek itself. At least there major areas are not covered. 1. north of Borden Ave. 2. English Kills and south. 3. East branch.
I was on the Creek-A-Thon yesterday with Mitch Waxman and Willis Elkins and I made many observations but I did not add them to the project because they did not seem close enough to the creek. Particularly, we walked on 56th Road but its not in the area.
Thanks for asking! The border iNaturalist provides is just automatically provided. I haven't figured out how to add our project border. We are focusing on the area within 100 m of the creek. If you're not sure, but add your project and when we download the data we'll know if it's within our study area.
Happy identifying!
Interesting. I did not know iNat provided a border. I created a few maps and I had to create my own border, but I was able to modify it. Soundview Park. Upper Manhattan between 100th and 180th (I'm guessing on the names). I'll use google maps to measure the 100m. Someplaces you can't get very close except by canoe.
iNaturalist directed me to fix the boundary so it's good to go! Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Very nice. You've got all of Willis Elkin's observations in. One of mine is still out but it probably deserves to be out. The bamboo at the entrance gate to Kingsland Wildflowers.
