Pools are Filling with Recent Rains

As water returns to vernal pools in the fall life springs forth. Dormant during a protracted dry season, macro-invertebrates now come out in numbers. It's a good time to sample a pool to get reacquainted with daphnia, ostracods, and other hidden wonders.
