Join One Tam, Marin California Native Plant Society, and the California Academy of Sciences at the scenic Rock Spring area of Mount Tamalpais State Park as we try to identify and document every living species we see! Hone your naturalist skills, learn to use the iNaturalist smartphone app, and contribute valuable data about Mt. Tam’s biodiversity. No smartphone? No problem! No experience or special equipment are necessary, just bring your enthusiasm for science and nature.
We'll be exploring in one of the region's most picturesque settings, including stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, Bolinas Lagoon, and even the Farallon Islands on a clear day. The site features rolling grasslands and serpentine outcrops — a perfect setting for unusual biodiversity in plants, insects, and more.
We'll meet at 9 am at the Rock Spring Parking Lot, walk to the site, and spend a couple hours as naturalists before heading to a the Gravity Car Barn at Mt. Tam's East Peak for lunch, identifications, and discussion.
Register by emailing dgreenberger@parksconservancy.org!
