The Sandy River Delta Eco-Blitz is part of a region wide, on-going Eco-Blitz Series to find and collect data on the Portland-Vancouver metro area’s wildlife. This event is free, open to all ages, and no experience is necessary. Community members will be paired with identification specialists who will lead them on an outing to observe species of interest.
Registration:
While no one will be turned away from the Blitz preregistration is preferred through Eventbrite on the right
About the Host:
The Sandy River Basin Watershed Council leads on-the-ground, science based restoration, stewardship, community engagement and education, with a mission to protect and restore the natural, cultural and historic resources of the Sandy Basin. SRBWC brings communities together in grassroots efforts, engaging volunteers, community groups, landowners, and management agencies in hands-on work that contributes to basin-wide wild salmon recovery. The Sandy River Delta is a site where we have performed extensive habitat restoration including invasive species removal, native plantings, installation of wetland protection fencing, and the removal of the Delta Dam.
