This species lives on Mt. Hamiguitan on Mindanao Island, Philippines. It has been found between 950 through 1128 m a.s.l. and may occur at higher elevations as well.

Fairly common.

It has been found in disturbed transitional lowland/montane forests, as well as primary lower montane forest. It might also occur in mossy forest.

Section empty

Mining, tourism, and sustenance hunting by local people may potentially impact this species in the present and the future.  Of these, mining is the biggest threat.
