This species is known to occur at elevations above 1800 m a.s.l. on Mt. Tapulao on Luzon Island, Philippines. It could possibly be found elsewhere in the Zambales Mountains.
Previously abundant on Mt. Tapulao, its current status may be affected by ongoing mining on the mountain.
It lives in regenerating secondary forest and old-growth mossy forest.
It is nocturnal and terrestrial, feeding on invertebrates and seeds.
